One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a sunny day. On my way from Sibiu to a very small place on the way to Râmnicu Vâlcea called Lazaret.The place is really good. Loads of space to stop. No shade. Good visibility. Not very busy traffic. Most cars were going either towards Brasov or Sibiu. Cars go slowly due to a roundabout.
After (lucky) 13 minutes I got a lift to Lazarte.

One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a sunny day. On my way from Sibiu to a very small place on the way to Râmnicu Vâlcea called Lazaret (successful).The place is really good. Loads and loads of space to stop (some sort of massive entrace to shops plus parking space). Cars go slowly coz it's after a roundabout. Good visibility. The traffic is much smaller than in the roundabout closer to the city. Which means many cars passing trough the other place stay in the city. So, I think this place here is better. There are actually two lanes. But the traffic was small that even the cars from the farther lane could pull over. No shade.
After 10 minuts a French couple stopped and gave me a lift half way, to a roundabout just before Talmaciu (they were going to Brasov), where quickly I got a lift to my destination.

Not very much traffic here. Walking west for 1km and taking the bus 15 to Carefour where there is a lot more traffic is probably an equally good option if you end up at this onramp.―Flasher702

it is not a good spot for hitchhiking cause cars and trucks really high speed but there is enough space to stop.
i was drop there so the only solution it was highway A1.
it works with thumb up.
i ve catch a truck driver who goes to my destination-ARAD .
it was in the middle of August 2014 and there is a place under construction where you can hide of sun rays or rain.

The hitchhikability in this spot is poor because the cars are going very fast and it doesn't allow the drivers to have enough time to see the hitchhiker. This is on the main road, is a lot better the ramp nearby - a lot few cars will enter the ring from there but their speed is really low because they have to make a 180° turn and they will stop. That's where I got the ride from, almost immediately once I was on the ramp, after staying in this spot for about 20 minutes. To enter the ring and avoid the city, going towards Cluj, this spot is a lot better than the one on the other side of the road because here the cars slow down a lot before doing the 180° turn and though they are very few it's likely You will get picked up immediately - I got picked up immediately.
