Idk if this is a best spot in the town but for sure you must go to this town if you are going west to Hungary or Oradea until the highway is not yet built. A lot of Hungarian license plates but finally a guy stoped for me who was going to Frankfurt. Sadly i was going to east slovakia so got off just after debrecen. Would have been really nice progress if i was going to germany. Really nice guy tho. Stood with oradea sign. Tho one trucker going the other direction shouted at me in some language and pounted to go more in the town or was trying to say that it was not the best spit but it worked in the end. But holy its a fucking long ride to Oradea form here trough all the villages

It was nice spot to hitchhike north. It felt a bit weird to stand before a roundabout as you usually satnd after. But here was a lot of space to stop and most of traffic was going on the highway north. But idk if i would recommend to come here all the way from the center because its not very nice to get here. And also if you are walking here take the left side of a bridge over the hoghway. But if you are coming from town just find some other nice place and stand with a sign. There shoudl be a lot of traffic to Cluj

10/10 gas station to cluj got dropped off on the other highway going north. Everybody goes towards cluj most of them not far enough though. Got 60 Lei because some people thought we had no money to take the bus even though we told them it was not necessary.

Some guy who was there when we arrived just wanted to the next town and was gone after 10 min with no sign. Had to wait an hour for a trucker

One male 40+, one big backpack, a sunny day. On my way from Târgu Mureş to Cluj.
According to the local expert, the best place to go to Cluj. And indeed it's a good spot. It's a slip and acceleration lane, which gives much space to pull over. Good visibility. Cars go slowly due to roundabout. There is no real shade and the sun was burning that day. The lamp pole was giving a narrow one, covering maybe a quarter of my body.
I waited 30 minutes. Two cars stopped very quickly (after 2 and 3 minutes), but they weren't going to Cluj. I wasn't using a sign. But when I got one saying "CJ" I got a ride to Cluj 2 minutes later.

I was immediately picked up by a lovely Hungarian lady from Cluj, she offered to house me and took me to the Hungarian celebration of világítás, as well as setting me up with a bunch of people who helped me a lot during my travels across Transylvania

One guy stopped but he asked money, second one stopped thanks Christian. Not a lot of room to stop but people go to Cluj from there. Better than the other spot IMO

Spot is good plenty of good speed traffic and an ok amount of space to stop. Drivers on this road ask for money so try to ask when you’re getting in or try to find non local cars my driver tried to make me pay €15 to go to Oradea so I got out early.

Rompetrol station. Medium good spot. Lot of local traffic, ask for Dej instead of Bistrica (it's closer). Lot of people speak English and are helpful. Still it took me approx. 70 minutes to get a lift to Dej. Maybe standing with a sign next to the traffic light where cars need to stop, would be better..

I went to gas station and asked around. Got a ride to Kluž/Cluj almost instantly. Also there is a park close by, where you can sleep.

Looks great, and had a sign reading Oradea, but a lot of local traffic and no one waswilling to stop for me. I resorted to taking bus M51 (that doesn't show on Google Maps) to Gilau and try there.

Quite a trip getting there but it's possible there, although would recommend going even further to west a bit. Also a sign is really helpful there.

It works, some buses take you really nearby but good luck finding the timetables.
