Decent spot to go south. However, some cars also still go north from here. When I arrived I quickly got a ride offered to Timisoara, but I was going the other direction. After half an hour got a long ride going south. Driver expected money, but when I told him beforehand, he agreed to take me without payment.

Got a ride to Lugoj within 5min. A local was already getting the same ride, when the driver signalled that I could also hop in. Good place and well-known for hitching.

Direction: South; Caransebes, Craiova
This is as good as every Romanian country road. If you're patient enough you'll probably even get a ride for free.

Pull-in spot right around here. Much better spot than the one local seemed to use in the middle of town. Used a SB sign for Sibiu.

Just after the petrol station, in front of some shops there is enough space to stop trucks and cars without disturbing the traffic. And you can also be taken by someone from the petrol station.

A great spot if you're going towards Deva or Sibiu. There's decent traffic from the city and the cars are going slow with a lot of room to stop. We caught a ride to Deva after about 15 minutes.

If you can get a ride here then it's good for going in the direction of Timisoara or even Bucharest if you're lucky. We caught a ride to Lugoj from here. There's not a lot of room for the cars to stop, but the Romanian drivers don't seem to care.

We didn't even manage to smoke a cigarette, and some two guys took us to Lugoj :)

Lots of long distance traffic from southern Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey. Possible to get rides beyond Hungary. Place to stop and a petrol station to ask around for confidence.

We reached late at night and decided to wait for the morning to continue hitchhiking. The restaurant is cheap, the food is good and it's open 24h. There's also a 24h service station with cozy sofas to sleep in and power sockets. Buy water at the service station rather than the restaurant, it's 5 times cheaper for the same amount. In the morning a truck driver gave us a lift to Lugoj in Romania, although we could have gone further to Sibiu.
There are many Romanians passing by, go talk to the people rather than showing your sign. If you're heading to Serbia ask for Szeged, sometimes that's as far as they can take you before the border.

Much better than the previous spot. More trafic and even the locals told us that this is the best spot for lugoj and sibiu.
