One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a sunny. On my way from Targu Jiu to Petrosani.The place looks ok. Just after the petrol station. Plenty of space to stop coz that's why the double lane turns into a single one. So the end of the finishing one is a good spot to stop. No shade.
The traffic wasn't busy. But somehow around the petrol station it was quite busy, which was blocking the visibility and the space to stop. I started thinking of moving elsewhere. But after 7 minutes a car stopped and a couple gave me a lift to Petrosani.
So, it looks like a good spot ;)

One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a cloudy day. On my way from Vulcan to a village Rachiti, 10 kms west of Targu Jiu (successful).The place look okish. An entrance to a car show room (I think so). No much room to stop but enough. Good visibility. Cars go slowly from the roundabout.
After 15 minutes I got 10 kms right to my final destination.

On a gentlebut curve indeed. No much space to stop. And it was drizzling (and we all know how rain "helps" in hitchhiking). But I just came down from 4-day hike in the mountains and I couldn't be arese to look for a better spot. Well, I got lucky. After 15 minutes I got a ride to Targu Jiu.

This street drive you to the end of the city: continue until you pass the park on the left, you will reach the roundabout and you can start to hitchhike from there.―Anonymous

You can start to hitchhike after the bridge (on the rifht side there is a bus station...go a little bit further): good spot if you want to go to Motru/Baia Herculane/Drobeta-Turnu Severin―Anonymous

Good spot for going south, cars are going slow out of the roundabout. Bus stop so they have room to stop. I had a sign for Târgu Jiu and got picked up quickly after not having any luck closer to town.―Anonymous
