One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a bit cloudy. On my way from Iaşi to Suceava (successful).
I was hitchhiking a few hundreds meters farther from the centre for one hour. Then I moved to this spot. It was too urban for me, but I was proved wrong, coz after 20 minutes I got a lift to Târgu Frumos.
The place is after a bus stop. There is a small parking with enough space to stop. Good visibility. Double lane. The cars go a bit slower than in my previous place.

One male 40+, no sign, one big backpack, a cloudy evening. On my way from Bălți to Iaşi (successful).
The place looks really good. Two tarmac bays (an entry and an exit of the petrol station), so loads of place to stop. Very good visibility. No shade, but it was very cloudy evening. The cars were going pretty fast. And there were very few of them.
The whole hitchhiking from Bălți was going much slower than I expected. I started to think that I'd get stuck here (getting dark, very few cars etc.). But after half an hour a car stopped. And it was going all the way to Iaşi. But the ride was a bit stressful. The guy asked for money. Then he said he had been only joking. But during the ride he was "joking" like that a few more times. At the border he was shouting at the border gards. And generally he was a bit weird. So, I was relieved when I got off in Iaşi.
The traffic on this road seems to be not very busy. So reserve guys a bit more time to get to Iaşi from Bălți.

Going to Chișinău with an MD sign, the first guys that stopped didn’t want to take me with my french passport but then I got a ride directly to Chișinău

Nice runoff and side road for cars to stop, best spot for Iaşi in my opinion

Solid spot in the bus stop. If you make yourself visible then shouldn't be too hard to catch a ride.

Got onto the second car with 2 friends. Fair spot, a bit of walking from the centre of course.

I'd rate this place as average. You can get shelter from the elements under the canopy of the gas station. The downside is that this gas station is used by locals a lot, so a small amount of them go outside the city. Still, Petrom is the most popular gas chain, and most cars travelling long distances will fuel here.

stay with a sign is much easyer, other hitcheikers just wayve the hand, that sometimes works
