We thumbed at the petrol station and the Lidl exit, but seemed like everyone was local traffic. We decided to try the exit of the nearby IKEA instead, with a sign for Librilla, and most was still local traffic - but quite soon a local helped us out.

Mostly local traffic - we had a sign to Librilla. At some point a local helped us out.

Take bus 44D from Murcia (instructions on Wiki). Going to the west should be fine, heading east better get on Santomera service station.

In Spanish standards this is a really good spot if you're planning to go to Almeria or Granada.

Take bus number 44D towards Alcantarilla to get here (bus stop 'Hotel la Paz') and walk the rest of the way. Right after the bridge over the A-7 you have the petrol station and camping site.

Yes there are "perfect" spots in the city of Murcia but, hey, you're in Southern Spain. Better take the bus.

Terrible! Waited over 4 hours before deciding to go back to Murcia and try somewhere else.

i actually got two rides to granada in 15 minutes :) many people go down there, just ask truckers and people who stop to eat/refuel. good spot and easily accessible. there's more 44d buses than just a few per day :) but beware because they don't operate on weekends

Very good place to hitchhike North to Alicante. A lot of traffic, cars passing slowly after the roundabout, enough place for cars to stop. Got a ride in 15minutes with a cartoon "Alicante". Walk 100m after the roundabout on the other side of the safety barrier.

Big roundabout before the highways, with a small petrol station. A lot of Local traffic going to the malls, not very good spot. Waited 5h, nigh came, slept in the park nearby. Next morning a local at the gas station helped us out driving us out of his way to a huge gas station in the highway towards Valencia.

I waited with sign Almeria and also without sign, but nothing. Some cars stoped but went just to citycenter. There is relly good place to stop, thats true, but I was not lucky and it was my longest waiting time and without result.

I literally stepped out from the first ride 5 seconds and someone stopped to ask me where I’m going. Was the shortest wait ever

Well, this stop can be good and bad in the same time, idk where is better to stay if in the gas station or in the roundabout ... I got a ride in the roundabout with a sing ( South direction ) and I got a ride to Almeria..

Maybe better to ask directly to the drivers ( it's better to do this in Spain.

We asked the drivers in the Gasstation. After less than half an hour we got a ride direct to Malaga. Many cars, truckers and tourists there
