SPAIN / MOROCCO FRONTIERHARD CROSSING DUE TO THE CROWD
DIRECTION TETOUAN / ALGECIRAS
Sign : Ask direcly to drivers, a lot are dissatisfied about the frontier system and because there is too much people screaming, crying, waiting hours for visas... It's a very hard point to hitchhike.
Position : For the south, maybe walk a little after the taxi parking and put your sign... it will be more quiet

Port Tanger MedFerries to Spain (Algeciras) several times a day. When you get to the terminal, ask for a boarding card from one of the booths and fill it. Then waltz to the X-ray and someone probably asks for your ticket. Explain that you are a hitchhiker and that the trucks are allowed to have one passenger apart from the driver. Be prepared for lengthy conversation though. Smile.
Once you are done with the formalities a minibus will take you to down to the port. Moroccan drivers are your best choice. Just convince them that you don\\'t have drugs with you (Arabic sign \\"I have no drugs\\" makes them smile). Explain that all they have to do is to take you into the ferry and in Spain you will walk out of the ferry by yourself.
It might take a while but eventually you will get a ride to the ferry. Then you just go and have a nice meal with the driver.
Just before reaching Algeciras you should try to hitch a ride out of the port (otherwise be prepared for a long walk).

Juste après le péage. 5 minutes pour aller à Tanger Med, mais je pense que c’est encore plus facile si tu vas à l’ouest―Mono3535

Found a car in 10 minutes and luckily he was working close to the Tanger med and we could get there to catch a ferry. Tried to hitchhike a ferry but didn't succeed in the end―Anonymous

So... It's 2025 and we tried to hitchhike to Algeciras. This is the place where you usually get a ferry ticket. First we tried to enter the "export access" for trucks which is very close by but even a guy who works there told us that the driver needs the name of the passenger on his ticket so we didn't try more. Later we heard around 3 a few busses would arrive and maybe those we could have asked but in the end we just decided to not wait 3h and bought a ticket. I would have loved to try it somehow but my wife was lazy :D. Good luck for anyone who will try nowadays. I would love to know if someone will manage it!―Anonymous
