I was going for a hike on the next town, that's why I stood at the roundabout on the edge of town. It took very little till a car stopped , although the spot is not ideal to pull over. The driver told me it's better to just stand at the gas station, that people do pick you up.

We stood on a gas station without thumb or sign and some nice catalunyan guy asked us where are we going, we told him we need to get to the countryside so we can sleep and he offered to us that he will took us to his home so we can build up a tent on his garden. We were lucky, it was evening and a weekday, Lots of truck drivers and I think it is not the best spot..

Stood there with a sign to smaller town on the coast, but get a ride in direction Barcelona with a funny german guy in caravan.
Mainly locals went here, it was a weekday in the early evening, a boy and a girl

It's your best shot to get out of the village. Made a sign to Girona and in the morning there's a lot of traffic. Unfortunately there's 2 lanes and if you go to Barcelona maybe os faster, the Girona lane is the left one. Not the best, but is possible.

Took a bus from the city until here. It was a cold and rainy sunday, coming and back from station to the spot many times, until a guy pick me up and ride until near Barcelona. It was my first ride in Europe but it was better than expected.

first car stopped after few hours! Very hot weather and no shadows around made it especially exhausting wait.

Just a comment: the town is called Llinars, not Llinares

not bad, but mostly locals filling their tank or eating at Burger King. Try to get a lift to the next gas station 30km in direccion France to avoid the local crowd.

After sitting arround and asking drivers at the gas station we got luckily picked up by two fellas on their way to Lloret de Mar ... so we got close to there. There's another service area and gas station.
