Initially, I started waiting near the petrol station, but many cars and trucks were passing through me because they passed through the left or through the right. Then I decided to move to the converging road where they just go to the highway. I had a sign and I was waiting there for maybe around 40 minutes, 45 minutes. Then I thought that maybe they were not stopping because they already had some velocity. Some of the drivers told me that they were going to another direction because they could see my signs (France & Jonquera).
So then I decided to go again to the petrol area. I started asking people around both while fueling the cars and also in the resting area. Lady from a track offered me to bring me to a nearby point, but I rejected and then just afterwards a French car offered me a trip to France so I joined. It turned out that they were going to one of the nearest villages to my destination so I was amazingly fortunate.

I got picked up be a Spanish couple. They saw me and asked if I needed a lift to France (always have the sign in the Hand) and I told them yes. I went really fast so it's a good starting spot for the Journey.―TomTom787

Arrived at the spot in the evening. We asked anyone who stopped but no one wanted to take us, either the cars where full or there where going to the wrong direction. After 1-2 hours we decided to call it a day and sleep there. Also not the best place to spend the night, it’s really loud and bright everywhere. In the morning we tried again, after another two hours we found a German guy who took us all the way to Valencia. It’s a tough spot. All in all there are a lots of cars but most of them a already fully packed. But maybe if you speak spanisch it’s easier to get a ride.At the end still ok because we are two woman and always felt safe.

Few Cars passing but mostly people on holiday with full cars. We asked a lot of people until 2 spanisch people took us with there van near Barcelona. Not the best spot, you need a lot of time and endurance.―Tina031

I was going for a hike on the next town, that's why I stood at the roundabout on the edge of town. It took very little till a car stopped , although the spot is not ideal to pull over. The driver told me it's better to just stand at the gas station, that people do pick you up.―Mandarina787

It's your best shot to get out of the village. Made a sign to Girona and in the morning there's a lot of traffic. Unfortunately there's 2 lanes and if you go to Barcelona maybe os faster, the Girona lane is the left one. Not the best, but is possible.―umajornadapelomundo

Took a bus from the city until here. It was a cold and rainy sunday, coming and back from station to the spot many times, until a guy pick me up and ride until near Barcelona. It was my first ride in Europe but it was better than expected.―umajornadapelomundo

After sitting arround and asking drivers at the gas station we got luckily picked up by two fellas on their way to Lloret de Mar ... so we got close to there. There's another service area and gas station.―Phoeni.x ger
