I was going for a hike on the next town, that's why I stood at the roundabout on the edge of town. It took very little till a car stopped , although the spot is not ideal to pull over. The driver told me it's better to just stand at the gas station, that people do pick you up.

We first tried at the gas station, that was really bad, this spot is really good when there are no trucks parked there. The moment the trucks left we had a ride pretty quick

It's your best shot to get out of the village. Made a sign to Girona and in the morning there's a lot of traffic. Unfortunately there's 2 lanes and if you go to Barcelona maybe os faster, the Girona lane is the left one. Not the best, but is possible.

Took a bus from the city until here. It was a cold and rainy sunday, coming and back from station to the spot many times, until a guy pick me up and ride until near Barcelona. It was my first ride in Europe but it was better than expected.

first car stopped after few hours! Very hot weather and no shadows around made it especially exhausting wait.

Just a comment: the town is called Llinars, not Llinares

After sitting arround and asking drivers at the gas station we got luckily picked up by two fellas on their way to Lloret de Mar ... so we got close to there. There's another service area and gas station.

Going to Girona direction is a good place, if you want to go near the coast. The difficult thing is to enter to the AP-7 to go France direction, but you can do it! (I did it to go to the UK)

A lonely BP gas station, down the road there is an other station in the other direction. If you are going direction France the other station might be better
