Toll station. Go there with a sign. Stand on the side corner of the right lane to be visible for the people going to Donostia. Good spot.―JamonWithRamon

After one hour someone took me to Eibar Train Station. Decent spot but from the metro its quite a walk. With the Bus its quicker but you have to pay―JamonWithRamon

There is a stop Light, where cars nee to stop, so you can throw your thumb out and walk along the cars to wait for a positive reaction. Just by the stoplight is also a big paper bin, where you can take some cardboard from to make a sign. I Made one direction León, (Bilbao, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Burgos). After around 10 Stoplight phases a guy took me to Arrasate/Mondragon near Vitoria.―Anonymous

Good place for hitchhiking to Bilbao. Everybody is going there. Bad spot for hitchhiking to Vitoria.( It is better to go down from San Sebastian)―Anonymous

Good spot to go towards Zumaia or further West on the coast. You have to walk aside the road for a bit, not much space to get there but cars pay attention, and then there's a spot for cars to stop and they see you from far away. I barely had the time to raise my thumb that someone stopped to bring me to Zumaia and then continue further West―ggfrite2

I was quiet lucky, I've got ride by couple from Germany, otherwise, I think, I would have to wait much longer. The couple told me that the bus stop is no really visible and they did not know were to stop when thy passed me tge first time. Luckily for me, they took a wrong path and passed by me for second time. This time they new they can stop at the bus station behind me.―Arvendui

Good for cars who go West in the coast road, and easy to stop with the gas stationTo go the reverse direction there's also a bus stop just in front
A bit of walking from Zumaia to get there but it's easily accessible with a pedestrian path so very safe

I've been picked up after 10 minutes by two guys going to San Sebastian. The traffic was not much dense compare to the oposite direction.―Anonymous

Good as there is a lightstop, bad as it's inside the city... Hitchhiked there 2 times, got taken to Zumaia the first time and Pamplona the second time. Don't hesitate to go see the drivers and do more than just a thumb and a smile :)―vlad2l2t

Lots of cars, visible place, low speed, but most of them won't even look at your face.Young male with a dog and sign to "San Sebastian"

Contrary to what everyone says, while talking to people here with a Bilbao sign I mostly encountered drivers going to Vitoria. Eventually a guy took me to a Lemoa and there i just took a 2 euro train to Bilbao.―ouitek
