Absolutely pointless. It's not a bad place, I've got a couple of rides from it, but, if you walk five minutes to the spot in the C-66, you get a much better one. The only exception is talking to a local who was riding in the same train than you and, if he has his car parked in the station, or has someone to pick him up, convincing him to give you a lift. But trust me, go to the junction with the c-66 and hitch there.

Good place to reach Torroella de Montgrí, l'Estartit, Pals... if coming from Flaçà or Girona and your driver is not sharing your destination. It's a pretty small road, so waiting times can be long.

Excellent spot to reach the Baix Empordà and the Central Costa Brava from the train. It's pretty easy to find a ride (by spanish standards), and, as there is a huge net of minor roads, don't worry if the driver is not sharing your destination. If he or she says he knows a roundabout from which you can keep on hitching, trust him!

There's a space next to the road where people can stop safely and it's on a straight road so the cars have plenty of time to spot you and think about it.

I got to France easily. Not so Manny people passing by than in the main highway of Girona but a great possiblity to get to Perpignan.

We were sleeping in a tent on this parking place. At the morning we we eating breakfast with sign "vers Espagne" and women offered us a ride to Empuriabrava.
I think you have to be lucky. Not much traffic, mostly trucks. For 2 people or more can be hard.
