I'm sure in normal circumstances it's a good place. Lots of international cars alrady. In my case, most were full because of the dates (christmas) and it was pouring rain, so it took me a while to get a ride, in the end with an italian truck driver that took me to Montpellier.―friki

Pro: plenty of space, gas station and small market. Fairly good traffic both ways.Con: gotta walk 15-20 mins to get here. Cars getting out of Figueres start to speed up and the gas station is not super busy.
Possibly the traffic lights about 500m before this is a better spot.

just in the peagge, in the entrance of the highway is the best to go to france. we were two and a big dog and we just wait 5 minuts! if u wait next to the city center u are stock for hours, but just the entrance of the peagge is a perfect spot, a lot of trucks but needs a half hour walk to get there.―Anonymous

Spent there 30 minutes Friday midday March 2017, I arrived with another hitchhiker, he got a lift after 3 minutes to the border (there is a huge tax free shopping area). I saw a couple of german cars pass and I asked the first one and got a lift to Perpignan (he would have taken me further though). Seems like a good spot to find long rides.―Lukas

A bit closer to the toll station, but on the same road (just to get into the shadow under the railway bridge), a couple hitchhiking to Barcelona. Waited a long time but got a ride after about 90 minutes until Girona.―Besnik19
