Perhaps it wasn't the best spot, but I got lucky and a romanian tourist on a rented car got me to Santiago. We even went for a drink. I was a young man with a big backpack, alone.

Good spot going south of Santiago. After trying 2 other spots, themis seemed the best, even though the access to this is to walk the roundabout with no sidewalks. But there's plenty space for cars to stop or also to see you from distance.

It's possible to get a ride from here, but it's hard to stop here if more cars go behind each other. Better go down the road to the next roundabouts.

Not too busy road, we wanted to get to a place in about 10 km from here, where there is turn to Santiago. But in the end got a ride from here all the way to Santiago:)

Better than it looks like. Is perfect when there are some traffic jam because you can ask for the people who stop before enter the roundabout. Direction A Coruña.

We didn't have to wait very long for a ride but it's not such a good spot, at least when there are not traffic jams. Not a lot of place for cars to stop

Great spot. Better if you are just before the roundabout with the access by the local house.

A small parking space at the roundabout makes the otherwise uncomfortable place a good one to get out of Santiago. Write "A Coruna" on a sign, every car goes there. Then you can get off at the highway gas station to change direction for Lugo/Leon or the coatal highway

It also works for the south, got a ride to Pontevedra within 10 minutes.

Don't come here too early! (Even in the summer, the Sun doesn't rise up until about 7 AM, and it's freakin' cold.) Not big traffic but most drivers head to the south on the AP-9.

For direction Pontevedra/Vigo/Portugal. Use a sign. Stand at entry to motorway just down from the roundabout. 30-60min wait.

destinstion to Pontevedra, Vigo. Monday morning, 1 hour of waiting and catched a car to Vigo (N550, not highway, but the płace is for both) ther is little parking area after the entrance to WW Services, so car can stops there.

There is a small roundabout before getting to big one next to it. Here you can fin cars heading AP 9 on both sides (Coruña or Pontevedra) and also AP-53, heading towards Orense, without doubts this is the best path if you are heading Madrid or Barcelona. There is not a lot of place to stop, but I do not know a better place.
