Fantastic spot on the corner of the petrol station. Traffic is steady and there’s plenty of space to stop. I finished writing my sign to ‘Granada’ and applied some suncream and as soon as I held it out the second car stopped and said he was going all the way to Granada! (On his way to Madrid) Literally took 2 seconds. I jumped out near Malaga however since I got a couchsurfing acceptance. I was alone as a female hitch-hiker this was around 10am on a Saturday.―birdpond

we got a ride here from Tarifa, and was a great sunset place to find a ride to sevilla (we chose a gas station 1h south of sevilla, to hitch onwards to Portugal). possible both to thumb and to wait for cars to stop for gas.―kiko

A plain street, but cars have to go slow and see you from far. They can easily pull out. Lots of international traffic (for Spain). Got a lift to Gibraltar after 15 Minutes.―Anonymous

I had to pay for the ferry after hitchhiking from Paris to Tarifa. It costs 37 euros or 39, did not try in algeciras. I confirm, you can sleep on the beach, it's a wonderful place and a quiet rest for a night or two !―Ewan gweznou

There is a restaurant that makes easier to pull. It's a road with 2 campsites, so expect packed cars.I waited for 30 minutes and got a ride to Sevilla from a french family (couple with 2 kids) i met in the camping days before.
Was lucky tho

There is a bar here Venta Jose Mari, where a lot of people stop. Go ask people and should be easy to get a lift towards Tarifa. I was extremly lucky and got a ride to Sevilla.―Anonymous
