Good location to catch southbound traffic, but not great for waiting as it is the entrance of the highway. It's still easy for cars to stop but I wasn't very comfortable with the location. A couple people stopped for us but we're not going very far. We had a sign that said "south", but when we changed it to "Stockholm", someone stopped immediately and could take us most of the way there.―Anonymous

I didn't wait at all. I just stopped and I was about to take the sign out from my backpack, whe first lorry leaving the custom car park stopped and took me all the way to Stockholm. The fact that I was wearing a t-shirt with a big Polish emblem helped me loooads. The truck driver was Polish. I'm not sure how long I'd have to wait if I didn't have the t-shirt.

I waited only 20-30 minutes. The fact that I was wearing a t-shirt with a big Polish emblem helped me loooads. A Polish guy who passed me already, turned to talk to me, only coz he saw I was Polish. Initially he was supposed to take me to Sodertalje (about 25 kms), but in the end he took me 140 kms and dropped at a petrol station by a highway.
I'm not sure how long I'd have to wait if I didn't have the t-shirt.

This time there was a construction site along the road where the indicated spot is, so we moved ca. 100m towards Sveaplan and stood in between the traffic lights. A lot of traffic, and well visible spot, but people need to decide fast. We were in the middle of morning traffic but had to wait quite long to get lucky.―Anonymous

Saturday around noon. Easy to reach by underground. If you prefer to ask people you can do that at gas station. But it seem mostly Stockholmers stop there. I thumbed at on ramp with a sign simply saying SOUTH for about 30min. Good visibility, high traffic, low speed, quite little space to pull over (but who wants to take you can always manage). I took a ride with very nice fellow hitchhiker to Norrköping. Which I do not recomend if Norrköping is not your destination- not a good town to transfer I think.―BanautaVanuaLat

Got here late in the night. A lady denied me a ride but offered 20euros instead :D I denied them went to sleep in nearby forest. Morning I was asking around for about an hour. Quite many locals. Than moved to thumb on the on ramp. After 10min i got a ride to STHLM.―BanautaVanuaLat

take the T bana to Norsborg and get out at Hallunda (for last stop).walk down 'Tre Kallors vag'.
and you find a good spot with a gas station. a lot of cars are going south all the way to denmark.

maybe the best place for getting south. Petrolstation(statoil) and a truckstop. very easy to find a car fast and if you have patience its quite easy to find ride very long for example gothenburg or malmö.―Anonymous

Basically a nice starting point (easy to reach, right at the highway) but unfortunately NOT a lot of long distance travellers. Most ppl went back into town. Took me 50 minutes to find a ride to Örebro.―Anonymous

The slip road to E4 south going is at the moment, 140806, not accessible since the construction of hospital Karolinska sjukhuset nearby. Go somewhere else if you are heading south, p.e. Kungens Kurva.―Maxlandegren

First off the Ikea bus is now in front of some.pizza shop. But don't even bother. They tore down the gas station and after in the process of building a new one 500 metera down the road. It will not be done until 2021. I could not find a sensible place to hitch because of the traffic. Please do no go to this spot.―Bowlthizar
