Direction Lausanne. The spot is a bit sketchy since cars are moving fast with little space to pull over. Best to stand in the black triangle in front of the turn and hop cars pull up on-to it.―Frederik

Not that busy of a rest stop, but still the best option. Good spot to chill before continuing the journey: cheap supermarket and nice lake with seats.―Frederik

Tried to get to the south of Martigny, did not work. Changed direction to Sion and got away immediately. Should gave accepted Martigny itself and tryfrom the southside of the city...―Splunt

the villeneuve MC DONALDS restaurant: i have not hitchhiked from here but believe it can be a good relais on the way from (and to) the 'mont blanc' meaning martigny/aigle on autoroute (A 9/E62) and the cities of lausanne and geneve (via A9 and later A1) or fribourg/bern (via A9 and later A12). there is a commercial zone ("riviera") with a huge COOP supermarket as well nearby.―Anonymous

direction Lausanne: although there are not many good places to stop cars and not a lot of traffic, we had many cars stopping by even if they were going just for a few kilometers―Anonymous

This one is great for going to Lausanne/Genève, not so good, for direction Bern. Waited 45 mins to get a car to Bern―Anonymous

It was after the roundabout to reach Lausanne, someone stopped to let me in Montreux. The cars arrive with some speed, but usually with the flow and because there were some roadworks, they came more slowly. Enough space, especially a bus stop 150 meters after the roundabout... But to get to Lausanne, BETTER to use the motorway A9, there must be another spot―JulienDiscovery

2 people for Aigle, after waiting for a while down the road with drivers reacting very badly, we tried here for almost two hours until we finally got a ride.―GregGM

There is a bus stop on the right side of the road, just before the roundabout where the A9 highway entry towards Montreux/Lausanne/Geneva is. I waited about 2 minutes and was picked up by a car that drove me all the way to Morges!―Anonymous

There is a little car park and all the cars that pass there go to Leysin. Got a ride as soon as I got out of a previous one!―Anonymous

Wait at the junction of the minor road (Chemin de l'Ecluse); this is the last bit of pavement before moutain roads begin. Plenty of cars and a lot of locals hitch hike to and fro the mountains. My wainting time was about 2 minutes!―Anonymous
