Good spot to go East. I was offered a ride easily to Ankara but I refused because my goal was Eskisehir/Bursa. Had a lift to Gebze after 40mn to take the boat BUT most of the drivers don't go to the ferry ⛴️ so they will just let you in a random place in Gebze and you might have to walk 1 hour to go there.―cavalierrustique

First I waited 90min before and after toll station. Heavy traffic and somewhat slow. Then I asked the guards at the toll station and they said I can stay right next to it. After all HH on the highway is illegal (?) but most people are chill af. Took another 30min to find truck driver who took me.―GermanyToIndia

its a bad place to HH,but if u really want to get out of the town by HH, u can select this conjuction spot of most roads. The road is wide, but many space on right to stop and take you for cars. No trucks are going through here. I recommend to take a bus and go further as possible as you can.―Anonymous

Anadolu Otoyolu Giseleri (toll plaza).Unfortunately hitching here is illegal and you'll be asked by the staff to leave the place very quickly.

Parking on the motorway O4 Anadolu Otoyolu. There is no petrol station, but many drivers stop here to grab some food from small restaurant. You can get to nearby district Ferhatpasa by buses 19, 19C and 19Y from Kadikoy (close to ferry terminal on Asian side).―Anonymous

I hitchhiked there in Sunday and traffic in the parking was only a little. I tryed hitchhiking after the parking- no results. Finally I hitchhiking 200 meters before parking (in the motorway) and I got a lift to Izmit.―Anonymous
