Banging spot for a ride north from the train station. Much shorter walk than the hermitage spot.―Ryancomet

It was the day before the Braemar Highland Games, so there was A LOT of northbound tourist traffic on the A93 (Old Military Road). Got picked up by the very first car. There is nowhere to pull over tho and I imagine the traffic would be much lighter on any other day, so I'm not sure if it's a good spot in general.

Extremely scarce traffic (one car passing every few minutes). I stayed at the intersection for half an hour and then started walking down the B950 road. After half an hour of walking I got picked up for a quick lift to the other end of the road.If you want to go south, down the A924, you might have more luck, there was more traffic that way.

A bit of a walk out of Blairgowrie. Cars go a bit fast but could easily stop―ESomerville

Cars aren't allowed to stop here, but it's the only spot in Perth to catch all traffic heading north. We got lucky and got a ride within 30 minutes. Risky spot for drivers to stop but if they want to help they will

There was a construction traffic light here so it was easy to have cars slow down.―ESomerville
