Lots of traffic towards Glasgow.

It is in the middle of the town but the cars are going slowly and there is a bus stop for them to pull over. Good place to go to Glencoe or Oban.

Walk to the front of the ferry with a big smile on your face, making eye contact with drivers. Politely ask the ferry dudes if you can get off first so you can hitchike, and then with their approval, dash off up the ramp the second they let you, to somewere with a little space, and thumbs away! ignore the crowd of startled normies who will inevitably have their phones out to video the strange hitchiker. I've gotten rides repeatedly this way on both sides. On this occasion 2 mins took me to Mull!!!

Once again a worth the walk. A 10 min wait got me a ride with a really cool person to fort Augustus!! Saw two older bearded hitchikers further in fort william hitchiking a busstop. Thumb only.

Hitched many times from here to Fort William. Usually 5-10 minutes wait.

Usually when I'm heading from Fort William towards Glenfinnan, I walk to this bus stop in Banavie. I've never had problems hitching here.

Many tourists. Which can also, sometimes, mean many people who are in the mood to spice up their holiday by picking up a hitchhiker for the first time.
