Great spot! [The other spot on another road is actually supposed to be this one... mistakenly marked, I imagine].The spot is this: a parking just before the roundabout, indeed with shade from a tree. Essentially here you get all the traffic from W. Wales and you should at least get a ride to Bristol (though that last petrol station before Bristol is always a bit hit and miss for me...but what can you do?).
Eventually settled on a ride to Bristol as it was hot, but had a sign for Devon and imagine a bit more patience would have got me that ride too.

Great hitch spot! There is even some shade from the trees. Only tricky thing is that there are two lanes, so it can be hard for someone in the far land to pull over fast enough. Good idea to stand at the beginning of the turnout if possible. My ride, who happened to be in the far lane, was so determined to stop for me that he pulled over AFTER the turnout and walked back to get me! I had a sign for Devon, and ended up with a ride to Glastonbury, where I’d been told I should go if possible. Beauty.―HoopRider

A4069 towards Llandovery. A bit fast traffic, but the nice shoulder here gives them an opportunity to stop.―Anonymous

Few cars, nobody wanted to stop. Waited what felt like an hour. Finally after much convincing a Romanian couple took us a few miles down the road.―Anonymous

Not much place for cars to stop, but we got lucky, someone pulled over on roundabout right away and got us out of crosshands where we'd been stuck for 3 hours―Anonymous

Relatively busy. Best spot (unless you’re looking for a long distance truck) probably by gas station close to the exit of the rest stop. Can ask people getting gas and thumb to people coming from the restaurant (good visibility).―moodeng
