Not the best spot but there is a place to stop and if you are really struglling its a bus stop (there is no signs but it is) so you can catch a bus. Carw going pretty fast and a bit uphill so probably not the most keen to catch. I was during ofseason so not that much traffic but eventually somebody should stop but this is not that rural road that everyone would pick you up

Nice spot to catch a ride south. Got lucky they were going all the way to Edinburgh

Think the general lack of drivers picking people up has taken the shine off this spot. Got a ride to Kinross services which was great!

Towards Perth. Take a bus from the centre of Edinburgh towards Queens Ferry road, get out at the juction with Maybury road and walk along the raod while you find a decent spot to hitch. If you have time before hitchhiking, I suggest a walk along the River Almond.

Took us 5 hours to get anywhere, not too much traffic.

2 minutes and we got a lift. Great place for going north.

Not sure is a very good point, but I was dropped off there and I got a lift to Glasgow in 5 minutes... maybe I was just lucky, as it doesn't look very easy for people to stop (unless you ask at the traffic light)

Got a lift toward Glasgow in 15 minutes... seems quite good.

Tried to go to Glasgow from there.. waited one hour then I moved somewhere else where I had more lucky. Not sure is a really bad place, but it was not the best as there's a lot of local traffic and the lane going to the M8 is just in the middle of two others line going on the city bypass, so no easy for them to stop to pick you up
