Got picked up quicksticks. 11 AM on a tuesday. Taken all the way to kingston in london by a delivery driver.

Best spot heading out of stroud south cos youve filtered a lot of local traffic by this point. If you can get a ride to the glider cafe then youre sorted towards ciren, swindon or london.

Spot is on the other side of the road. Waited a couple of minutes with a sign saying Stroud and then a guy stopped and went out of his way to take me to Nailsworth.

Would not recommend trying to hitch from anywhere along this stretch of three roundabouts. Everything’s moving fast and hardly a spot for cars to stop

Most traffic is local, expect to get only as far as Stroud

Cars going fast. But the turn off gives some an opportunity to stop for you

Not so great spot, on a roundabout but people will stop for you. Waited 15-20 minuets here heading NORTH.

Waited a couple of minuets here SOUTH bound, complicated junction and very busy with only a few safe places to move around, ask to be dropped off in the right part.

Great place with a full width hard shoulder for cars to stop easily.

Hitchers are very visible and its easy for cars to stop. If you're going to Cheltenham or Gloucester, its best not to take a lift to where the route splits- its a fast, dangerous junction. Its better to wait till you can get a lift to your destination. That said, if you're destination is Cheltenham and you're offered a lift to Painswick it's possibly worth taking it.

Small layby opposite Cirencester College. Its a bit of a walk from the town centre, but excellent spot for a lift to Stroud or beyond.

Got a lift within 3mn for the M5 going north. Probably quite lucky but it's a good spot just before the motorway
