Not many cars but nearly everyone there is going to zagreb city center. And because of the bus stop they can hold perfectly.

Not really a good spot. There is no place where drivers can pull up. If you want to go to zagreb city I would recommend going away from the highway.

Not a bad spot but we had to wait for 90 minutes. That was pretty annoying.

Stood with a sign Zadar in the middle of the lines. Police didn't care.

Got direct ride to Vienna, city center. Guy returning from trip in Croatia.

With my stay, not much traffic, but I got there quite late, and it was end of the season.

Walked there from Kupljanovo train station.
From Zagreb to thumbing here it took me 1,30 min. (with really big backpack), ticket cost is 2€.
The gate through the highway fence was opened.
No visible lock (employees parking there, pathway is used daily).

Took the bus number 12 from Rijeka to Cevla. Be aware: only cash! 3€ per person. Good spot, visibility and many cars anf trucks. Easy access to the place through the fence.

Got lucky, picked up by professional taxi driven by lady going directly to Zagreb center, yay!
(She took me in Zadar city center for the 'Pozdrav sluncu' monument as she was doing some chores meantime and picked me later to continue. What a ride.)
But it's unusual place to get there and better to leave with exit from Split I think.
Anyway it worked for me.

There is bus stop behind, school building.
Cars are going slow. Nice visibility. No shade.
Possibly it's doable to sleep in field nearby behind playground in case one stuck there.

I think it's also doable from the crossroad leading here to this route from Split - Trogir highway (already on HWM).
This ways my initial plan, to start there, but driver (also taxi) lift me up to here.

We found it hard to find a way out of zagreb into slovenia. We also tried the gas station nearby but decided it was best to wait here and try to go to the toll station.

This petrolstation is permanently closed. Getting into slovenia is extremely hard now. I would recommend black riding a train into slovenia if you don’t want 2/6 hours waiting times.

A lot of tourists going back to Poland, Slovakia, Czechia and Austria. Lot of space for cars to stop. Also the gas station that is close has very nice staff. They gave me cardboard and a marker to write my sign.

We asked around and a Polish couple agreed to take us all the way to Brno

Started hitchhiking in the afternoon with a sign reading Split and a Slovenian guy took us all the way to Zadar where he offered us that he'll drive us to Zagreb the next day (it was late when we got to Zadar) which we happily accepted

We got here at 7pm, tried to hitchhike further but nobody stoped, so we had to sleep in a forest nearby. The other day a kind Slovenian women took us to Zagreb. But overall not a good spot. People make you feel invisible

Very huge traffic lot's of cars. First asked driver in the parking lot was heading towards Vienna center. Hard to get from the city center.

Good place for locals to pick you up and take you through villages to place, where then you can easily access highway gas station.
