Another amazing spot car go pretty fast and no topez but huge gaz station across the road so car coming from there road in slow and got plenty of time to see you with you tumb out, chill driver with absolute eat car with not speed meter, let me smoke in the car only ask me if I was carrying drug which I said no you ? , he said no as well , and was on our way , apparently there is a free buss service from Rio Verde all the way to Tamazunchale, guess it's could be checked out , but I rather hitch, and I'm sure you as well

Great spot lots of place to pull over and a tamales stand if your craving some scran before Hitchin, took a taxi to get there from the city center about 5 $ but learned after there's also a bus that pass by there , driver treated me good by bringing me to a swimming hole in nature and a meal before dropping back on the road to get further east.

Bad very bad this is a black hole from hell I would not touch this platz again. Seriously avoid. Go to the smaller platz a few mins away in leobsanwald (??name??). If you're here get out accept any lift and go to the next platz oh my days what a nightmare. Lots of truckies lots and lots but no one will take you because they're doing their job. Then lots of people weirdly business men who've better things to do. Generally people are not interested. This place has withering soul energy. Super bad for real. I was alone, young/white/feminine-presenting woman with smallish medium handbag and clear cardboard sign , I'd just had a shower and washed all my clothes I was prime game for a lift and did I get one NO only after HOURS oh my days and not even where I wanted to go toooooo.

Looooove nice one. Walked here from central Wien near hbf, would be a bit rough in the dark but super fine in daytime. Tuesday evening, it was dark when I was finally there because it's winter brrrrr. Cold but obvs service station if here for hours. Found a lift to BTS in ten mins with a medium cardboard sign. Heavy constant traffic leaving the station. I like it , minus a star because there aren't any good places to stand where people can see u, think, stop. Awkward to catch people before they are in highway mode.

Weird spot, especially in the dark but there is space and decent visibility. Good for going long distances. Police passed and didn't care either. Got a few offers to Pristina but eventually got a ride to the North Macedonia border with a cool truck driver!

Traffic is super minimal at this time and people are either going into the town or don't want to pick people up. Had to wait a while here but there were some curious locals which I could talk to while I waited for a car to pass by (every few minutes). Luckily got picked up in the end with some cool dudes going a decent chunk further east :)

Good spot with lots of space. Just be prepared for almost all vehicles to be local traffic so progress may be slow. Got picked up in a car to Reçan where the guy gave me water and a snack.

Great spot to go long distances; so much space even trucks stop. It was completely dark but there were street lights which helped. I waited about 2 minutes with a sign for Kosovo and a truck stopped before immediately leaving. Didn't matter because several minutes later a truck stopped who was going past Prizren (my destination). He insisted on giving me food and water even though I could tell he was struggling financially.

Horrible spot for going longer distances north. Try to use a thumb to go closer to the motorway if you get stuck here. The only redeeming factor is people are super helpful and give money or food or other things without asking. Eventually got a ride with a police officer who drove crazy a few towns over.

Super nice spot with beautiful view, cars can see you from very far away if you are going to the west. We were four and we got taken by teams of 2 separated by like 10 minutes. Went to le festival de la soupe in Florac, i highly recommend that festival, one of the most beautiful experiences i've had in this country.

Right now, the eastwards truck stop is all torn down, so rarely used by either trucks or cars, if you can skip it, but if the renovations would be done I imagine it would be a good spot to hitchhike, as it is the first gas station to buy vignettes for the Czech highways. Got lucky and got taken all the way to Prague by a crazy Armenian guy.

I asked the first car with a Paris plate ("75") and immediately got a ride with them all the way to Paris! Almost all other cars were from Bordeaux though.
This seems like a good spot to ask around, even though there is not a huge amount of traffic. Most cars seem to be from Bordeaux ("33"). Waiting at the exit ramp is not a good option here, as there is not enough space for cars to pull over

Quite a good option if you are going North or South on the A9, but not so much so if you are going towards Czech Republic via A6, as most of that traffic is going via Langwasser. Covered bus stop nearby, as well as the funny Reichs-Burger King, an old nazi building repurposed into a Burger King and a gym. Got lucky because the person who picked me up said he usually goes through Langwasser unless he goes to his doctor. But imagine would be perfect for A9.

It's one of Copenhagen's official hitchhiking spots ("Blafferstoppested"). It's surely a great place for cars to stop, only problem — there is almost no traffic.
So gave up and walked down to the big road, at the petrol-station just after the next crossing is enough space for people to pull in.

I didn't even put my thumb up that one driver asked me if I needed a ride. He saw me writing down something on a sign "To South" while he was on the traffic jam and he came directly to me.
He was drinking beer while driving but he was fun.
Even called his friend to find me a ride to the south of UK (Unsuccessful).
PS : The gas station in Greta Green is really good (especially with these showers).

It takes a bit of time to me to reach the other side of the island because my driver takes me to visit a castle with them.
Otherwise you have some buses to visit the island, but now that much(but only 2£).

There is a large space for the car to brake and let you get in without disturbing the traffic.
