Я с рядом стоящего лукойла уезжаю на Ростов регулярно, в 50% случаев получается поймать прямую попутку. Время отъезда 5-15 мин.

Had a sign for utrecht. After 40 minutes only 1 car stopped and it was a taxi asking if i could pay him with favors instead of money. I can only guess what that means cause i said no haha. But it is a good spot; plenty of cars and plenty of room for them to stop, with a tram stop next to you if things dont work out. Also was lucky with a big cardboard dumpster next to the spot. Have fun

Good place to hitch a ride. You are on top of a hill which makes you stand out with the sky in the background and people can see you from very far away. Also, there is a parking spot beside the road for people to stop if you want to go west (I can't remember if there is one on the other side aswell). Two people stopped for me, but they were going to another place. I got picked up by a truck.

Avoid! Very deserted spot with not a lot of cars driving by, most of them being trucks. One guy stopped and offered to take me and sped off when he saw we were two people. Another guy claimed he was going in our direction but the route in his car showed the opposite direction. After 2 hours, we gave up and took public transport to Alsfeld.

A lot of cars with friendly people. Got a ride down the A4 and a5 in the direction of Frankfurt after 45 minutes

All the traffic at this point is crossing the border, now that both Romania and Bulgaria are in Schengen, no border checks either, and the cars are going pretty slow and do stop to ask where you're going. Be aware that at the time of my crossing, the bridge was getting renovated, and only one way was open, might be difficult to cross on foot if you wanted to, and might make the waiting times longer. But you can walk up to people and ask to take you!

Biiiiiiig layby right after roundabout. Ride north to St vith which has a junction. Lots of dutch plates. Acess using free public transport in Luxembourg. Trois vierges has a station, and bus 174 goes to this junction. Lots of forest nearby, camping potential. 20 mins, thumb only, bearded man. Drivers spoke English, french and German.

Ideal spot to Nijmegen. 4 cars stopped in 10 minutes and got a ride to Nijmegen centrum.

Generally a good spot, however I had to wait for some time because it was a Sunday morning and there was not many cars passing by. Eventually got dropped of at a highway entrance near Arnhem.

Pretty good place, can get there very easily with tram from Bucharest City Center, and all of the traffic is south, few shops nearby and can easily get back to town if need be.

Pretty bad spot to get further into neuchatel. Pretty good traffic, but nobody stopping for us.

This spot, and actually the whole road, is super exhausting to hitchhike. There is almost no traffic (even in the mornings when you would usually find some tourists), and many people are staying in town. After an hour or so of waiting, I finally found a kind woman who showed me around in Galaxidi (worth a visit!) and dropped me off at the exit of that town.

We thought the spot would be perfect to hitch to Biel, because both streets after the roundabout lead there. But we still waited more than expected.

Solid spot as there are lots of tourists going back to Athens from their daytrips to Delphi. I ended up finding a ride with an Albanian living in Greece who was going to Athens to visit his mother in the hospital in Athens.

I decided to walk down this road through the olive groves to get to the next intersection to Delphi (in the hopes of finding more traffic there). I didn't end up needing to go all the way as a Greek man decided to stop for me on his way home. He took me to Arachova where I had a brief and random encounter with the Italians who took me on the day before. On the way, he was kind enough to make some sight-seeing pitstops in Delphi, so I can at least look at the sights from a distance.

I waited a good 45 minutes here until finally I found a ride to the intersection to Delphi after Itea with an American father and son who live in Greece.

I spent the night at the camping in Lichnos, and wanted to get to the intersection with the bigger road in the morning. After 15 minutes of trying I found a ride with two tourists in their campervan. I think it's good to be here in the morning to catch the people leaving their accommodation in Parga/Lichnos as they can sometimes go far. I could've gotten close to Thessaloniki with them, but I wanted to go more in the direction of Patras / Athens and had them drop me off at the intersection with the main road.

I waited for 60 minutes here until finally a woman and her mother picked me up. They only had to go to the next city but were super kind and drove me to Lichnos. There is a camping there where I spent the night,

I tried this spot for two hours on a Wednesday night but didn't succeed in finding a ride. Next to no traffic at all, and the few drivers who saw me didn't seem to enthusiastic about seeing a hitchhiker (perhaps especially in the evening). I tried the spot again the next day and succeeded then, but that night I just surrendered and got an airbnb.

Probably as good a spot as any on this road. But the road has next to no traffic at all in the evening. If you want to hitchhike here, good luck! Eventually, I found a ride with an Albanian father and son to the next town where I gave up and happily collapsed in my airbnb for the night after some super intense and slow hitchhiking days.

Being here early in the day is definitely a very good idea! That way you can catch tourists checking out of their accommodations in Parga/Lichnos/Igoumenitsa who might go some distance. The locals mostly go between two cities and are very reluctant to take people. I ended up finding possibly my best ever ride here with a young Italian couple who were travelling with their camper van, freecamping where ever they go. They were going in my direction (Patras) but were planning to do some sightseeing on the way. They kindly took me with them to look at the archeological site of Nicopolis (amazing stuff!). While driving it turned out that they would continue to Delphi the next day and that I could free camp with them. We spent an amazing night filled with music, swimming, great conversation and a camp fire at a secret beach on the coast. Although we got stuck with the van on way back up the bad path for three hours, I had the best time with them. We just clicked on every level and this is exactly what I hitchhike for! Because of the situation with the van, we didn't end up reaching Dephi that day, and they instead decided to stay on the coast for another night. Unfortunately their next freecamping spot wasn't so suitable for my tent and I had too book accommodation for a night in the next town.

After 30 min a local stopped and offered to take me to the next city. Because I had already spent 2 hours waiting at another spot, I just wanted to get out of Igoumenitsa. But I probably could've (and maybe should've) waited for a longer distance ride.

Not a very good place because it is nowhere and there isn’t place to walk, but it worked for me

Asking everyone around if they are going to Lithuania. But half of it was staying in Suwalki. Lithuanian cars were usually full of things. But eventually a estonian camper took us to Kaunas. But still probably its the best gas station to get to Lithuania

Quite bad spot. There is for sure a lot of space to stop but cars just go fast and its two lanes so a bit shit. But eventually with a sign we got a ride to Suwalki. But from I saw on the road not a lot of traffic goes past Augustow. Even thi there are million cars leaving Byalistok.

Probably the best gas station to get a ride between warsaw and ostrow from my experience. We were trying to go to Lithuania but we accepted a ride to Bialystok which was maybe not the best idea because it can become pretty hard to get out of there. So if you are going to Baltics just stick to the main highway. Eventually you will get someone who is going there.

Second day (Sunday morning) we got a ride after ten minutes

Risan has a popular market, I was told a lot of people from Niksic come to buy stuff here, so it might be a good spot to go up North. Got a ride to Durmitor directly, from a tourist. Enough place for cars to stop, there is a big band of grass and dirt where cars stop.

Poste ili foriris. Tiam, junulo, kiu observis kaj laboris proksime al la flughaveno, proponis al ni veturon. these reviews are so funny. bro is going with the companion and complains that less people want to take 2 passengers. spot is good. you can also stand a bit earlier, there are 2 huge lanes. or ask around. everything works. i had sign "vienna/bratislava"

only place from Mór towards Slovakia. there is a place to stop. not so much traffic because regular road.

it was tough and hot. sign. running around and asking is probably pointless because exit combines both mcdonalds and gas station cars. eventually was taken by a lorry driver to random hungarian village. aim for autobahn tho.

update on this place. this time i went from the city, other reviews are obscure on how to reach it. go to the the underground passage of the highway to the right from "Sady Starý Lískovec". go up a steep slope to the guardrail and just reach the gas station. i love this spot!

Very bad if you want to go to Luzern, not a lot of cars and most of them are heading Berne. Un 1h of walk from here you can reach another bigger gas station

Lots of cars and good place to stop. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and nobody took us for like 3,5 hours. Most of the people go to the shopping center.

Idk what was our luck but we tried with a sign Ostrow or just thumb but we waited until somebody picked us up that was going further than just closest turn off to industrial districts. Got a ride to gas station with Mcdonalds. It was early in the morning so maybe people were just going there for work?

Was here after a lunch so already quite a few trucks were stopping for a day. And maybe here its better to ask just cars because there is quite a few. But still half of them goes to Katowice area. But eventually I got a guy to Warsaw and I think its better to not accept anything closer. Try to get at least past Czestochowa.

Not a lot of traffic but normal amount. Tho half of it goes to Ostrava. But eventually got a truck which was going to Katowice so asked to drop off at the gas station in Poland.

There was so many cars at the Mcdonalds and other restaurants that I got overwhelmed and just asked trucks so got one which was going to ostrava to rest for the rest of the day. But there is a lot of traffic here but I dont know how far the cars go but almost all were czech. Easy to get here from the city with a bus which cost 1.5 euro. You cannot pass without ticket because you have to pay to driver.

I was here very early in the moring on a weekday so most of cars were stopping for coffee or something before going gor work in Bratislava. So asked trucks around and got a ride to Brno. Also there was a lot of trucks going to Bratislava so maybe its better to go to gas station further down the highway?

Got droped at this border control because local lady said that i only can cross this one on foot? Was crossing the border and asked a car ahead with slovakian plates if they can pick me up and he agreed do got taken straight to Bratislava and even he invited to stay at his apartment for the night and drove me to gas station in the morning. Very nice guy who also hitchhiked in his youth.

Maybe because its not a tourist season or what but only like 30% of cars were with foreign plates and there was pretty low amount of traffic in the middle of weekday day. After one hour police showed up to do traffic check here so they said to fuck off but I moved only a bit further away and tried but was unsuccesful to get a ride for 90 more minutes after police called me again to write me a ticket but changed their mind after they saw my EU passport(???) so just said jump the fence to fields and fuck off completely. After that Iwalked to next gas station 15 km down the road because there was no traffic on ramps going down to highway in Hingary direction

Was trying to get to Hungary. Wrote Subotica on sign and got a ride by the guy going there. Asked to drop me off at Subotica toll station. I think its better to write Subotica because from what I saw there was not a lot of people going to Hungary so its better to probably just try to get to Subotica and then try Hungary. There was a looot of traffic but most of it cleared up after Novi Sad

I think this is quite a good spot to get out of belgrade north. Held a novi sad sign and got a ride like in 30 mins. Ofc there is two lanes so a lot of times trucks are blocking for cars to stop but there is no space on ramp to stop and here cars go slowly and there is plenty space to stop for people going up the highway.

Dont think its a good spot to wait. Cars just go too fast. And I was in the morning waiying so there was a lot of traffic on this street so multiple times I got blocked by thevtruck going out. I think is much better to move a bit closer to the city where the traffic lights are

Post pasigado de la tago en ĉi tiu ajnua vilaĝo kaj vizito al la muzeoj (kontrolu la informojn en la necesejoj kaj ĉirkaŭaĵo; ni trovis du biletojn tie kaj eniris la Ajnuan Kulturmuzeon senpage), post malvarma nokto kampadante malantaŭ la rokoj proksime al la parkejo, ni komencis petveturi rekte tie ĉe la elirejo kaj havis la bonŝancon trovi paron, kiu iris duonvoje al Sapporo. Ni portis ŝildon, kiu diris "Tsugi Machi ka Mura" (sekva urbo aŭ vilaĝo) en Kanji, kaj ĝi funkciis.

Ni ricevis mirindan veturon de bela ulo nomita Ano. Li fakte ne venis la tutan vojon al Sapporo, sed li decidis lasi nin proksime al la domo de nia amiko, verŝajne pro la malvarmo kaj ankaŭ por amike babili. Ĉe ĉi tiu benzinstacio Salmon Michi no Eki estas multaj Sapporo-ŝildoj, do mi kredas, ke multaj homoj efektive venas al Sapporo. Ili ankaŭ havas la Muzeon de la Rivero Salmo tie. Laŭ ili, ĝi estas la sola en la mondo.

Post multaj malfacilaĵoj tiun tagon, mi fine alvenis al ĉi tiu granda stalo, kie multaj homoj haltas survoje al Marakeŝo, kaj post duonhoro mi sukcesis trovi rektan buson, feliĉe. Ĝi lasis min en Medino, proksime al la gastejo kie Chay loĝis, por ke ni povu komenci niajn aventurojn en Maroko.

hey to whoever is reading this,am yasser and am 17y this trip started in a bus station near iberia i took bus number 5, it was nice anyways i was planning to go to the beach for a swim the bus stopped at medouna, i walked down to the beach anyways when i finished i went up to the top the place where all the tourists were anyway i knew no one would pick me up there so i kept walking where there was no cars parked nearby and it was just the road for cars i waited around 11 min no one stopped many hesitated because i looked like a mess lol i just came back from the beach so understandable, eventually a car stopped and i wentin with him because it was only one possible route then i asked him where he will turn etc he dropped me off near rmilat from there i didntreally try to hitchhike that place is horrible for hitchhiking i do not recommend it at all i walked all the way home after that around 15km lol

Did not find a ride here and moved closer to the highway after 2h of waiting. I think you an definitely find a ride here during the season when there are more tourists on the streets. But perhaps the spot under the bridge to the south is your best shot of getting out of this town.

I got pickep up super fast by some guys in a van, they were going to Greece to so it was super convenient, they invite me to dinner and even paid a hotel for me in the destination. I got so lucky

I think visibility its not the best because people passes fast but I was lucky so I can't complain, I think it would had being better if my last driver had dropped one of the gas station that were a bit before in the road but I think I was lucky still and I could continue my trip

brilliant. just stood with a sign near entrance. a lot of german/czech/slovak cars. you can also cross the highway via the bridge and go the other way.

a few cars. you must have insane luck to pull a brno ride here. I asked around the gas pumps and got a ride to small slovak town Sekule, from which walked 10 min to the highway gas station and it was ezzz from there.

cars go fast, uncomfortable to stop and everyone who turns right to the mall is mostly locals. if you signal with a sign you also irritate the turning drivers. few CZ cars and they are all on the opposite lane. leaving Bratislava sucks. ask around the gas station to bring you to the highway or any city in the north from which you can walk to highway petrol station.

Did not work for us. There is space and plenty traffic but no one stopped which is the first time it happens to us over 3 weeks in Turkey. After one hour, we walked 10 minutes to the next petrol station. There someone immediately offered you drive us out of Serik on the way to Konya.
