stood on the grassy shady wooded area on the side just after the toll booths. got a ride from the second car that passed all the way to paris. may have been luck, but most traffic is slow and there is a good place to stop, and this spot gets all traffic going on the A20 from toulouse. i recommend a big sign as it is wide toll booth and you may miss cars on the far side.

We were trying to get a ride to get into A3, which later connects to A1 (we are going to Köln). We decided to try this spot since was quite close from our accommodation, but no luck, only 1 car stopped to tell us that we better go to Port de la Chapelle, as here we wouldn’t find a ride. There’s not many space for a car to stop, as is after a round point and drivers are more worried about the traffic lights around.

I was really lucky and got picked up by a guy who hitchhiked a bunch in his life and he brought me to a better place.

Wouldn’t really recommend unless you can’t get out of Paris

Très spot mais il faut être patient (c’est paris comptez minimum 1h), j’ai été pris jusqu’à metz avec un panneau indiquant ‘reims’
se mettre au niveau de l’arbre pour être visible et montrer le spot derrière

The door was closed, I rang the bell and someone opened it. Met a girl also hitchhiking to Belgium, and very quickly we got a ride north.

Well intentioned driver misunderstood my request for a service station on A1 and took me here instead. All Taxis/livery drivers or rental car returns, one took pity on me and got me to the airport so I could find a way back to A1.

Beware of drovers heading to the airport who want to help, wait for a ride going further north to catch a good service station for long distance.

Was a bit slow at 08:00am. Delivery driver was going a short distance but thought he could get me to a better spot - traffic had other plans.

this seems the best way out of Paris without standing on the side of the road. We were 3 people, so we wanted somewhere good. as others say, you can access it via a bus. walk to the end of the wall and through some bushes and voìla. we got a lift to Aire de Ressons, an hour or so north, towards Lille. there were lots of people here.

we got picked up fairly fast by someone going to Paris. They dropped us on the outskirts, where we got a bus and a train into the centre.

we were unsure about this one, but fairly quickly someone stopped and took us to Porte d'Italie in the South. We were trying to get to Lyon eventually. a few other people were going other directions.

we were heading for Paris. after not so long, someone stopped who was doing van delivery driving towards Paris. they kindly dropped us right off of the Périphique in Paris.

Good spot but a lot of locals and taxis to that went to the airport…… We were lucky to get a minibus to Brusel. It is a bit tricky to get there the door was not open so we had to go to the end of the fence and around through the Forrest Jungle and that the most dangerous you have to walk on the road where the cars speed up from the gas station to the highway. But is is just a few seconds walk to the station……
