Good spot, waited a bit longer than expected, but worth it. A couple took us to Perpignan, directly in front of our accomodation. We (2) had a sign Perpi, because of space in our notebook.―TwoThumbsTravel

The car are going slow and there's space to stop. Good for going into the direction to Spain but probably hard to get in to Spain.―jokndm

Good to go to Collioure, there's space to stop and cars aren't going too fast. The closer to Spain you want to get the hardwr it probably is.―jokndm

Difficult to reach we had to cross a street with lots of traffic. But got picked up really fast. Good to go too Argelès-sur-Mer―jokndm

Good if you are heading south. For traveling north to Montpelier, i wouldn't suggest this. Took almost 2 hours. Cars are slow when exiting the peage but then speed up rapidly to cross into their preferred lane, and as the northbound side is on the left, it's difficult for them to stop. Got a trucker ignore all the mess behind him who picked me up, luckily.

To get to this spot you have to cross over a non-pedestrian zone (shortly). It is pretty exposed to weather and cars don’t have an ideal place to pull over but I got lucky within 20 minutes.
I got a ride to the nearest northern toll station.

We first tried at the gas station, that was really bad, this spot is really good when there are no trucks parked there. The moment the trucks left we had a ride pretty quick―Daveswek

it serves both directions so it can be tricky, besides fuel is more expensive than in spain. and yet i was picked up by a german whose mother, in another car, needed fuel. there was a lot of people, the spanish were telling me they were unfortunately coming from spain but would take me―andrej

Long walk from Perpignan, but one of the nicest walks you'll ever have. Getting to this side of the Peage involves jumping a creek and climbing a fence!―Anonymous

1 girl and 1 dude hitchhiking here an August Monday morning, heavy traffic andmore than an hour waiting time. There were 2 girls hitchhiking behind us, arrived later but got a ride earlier. We got a ride till Figueres, where it's not easy to go on to Barcelona so it's better to wait for a direct ride.―Besnik19

It's about 1.5 to 2 hr walk from the centre, depending on the route you take and if you get lost at all :)I waited after the toll station with a sign, and got a ride after about 45 minutes. You might wait longer if you're looking for a direct ride to Barcelona though.

You should probably take directions if you're heading here- you may get lost! We hitched on the slip road for f*cking ages, then went directly up to the Peage and got a lift real quick.Finding a ride all the way to Barcelona was hard, but plenty going to the final major Peage before Barcelona, which is much more likely for a lift all the way!

We (girl and boy) were hitchhiking direction Montpellier and after ten minutes we got a ride. We waited 100 meters before the Péage with a sign―AnniK

you can take the bus from the center, but still quite a hike to the Toll. be aware of the dogs on the properties, they are ok as long as you are not entering their ground :)After that i got a ride to Barca within 35 min. Worth waiting for a direct lift to Barcelona, there are for shure people who take you there.
