Good spot, waited a bit longer than expected, but worth it. A couple took us to Perpignan, directly in front of our accomodation. We (2) had a sign Perpi, because of space in our notebook.

Difficult to reach we had to cross a street with lots of traffic. But got picked up really fast. Good to go too Argelès-sur-Mer

A lot of the Cars go to Narbonne.
Not ideal if you want too go to Perpignan.

Good if you are heading south.
For traveling north to Montpelier, i wouldn't suggest this. Took almost 2 hours. Cars are slow when exiting the peage but then speed up rapidly to cross into their preferred lane, and as the northbound side is on the left, it's difficult for them to stop. Got a trucker ignore all the mess behind him who picked me up, luckily.

We waited in front of the fence and where really lucky to find an old couple who tuck us all the way to perpignan!

A lot of cars, going slow before the peage, abd there is some place for them to stop.

Talked to people at the gas station, found someone going to Perpignan almost immediately.

To get to this spot you have to cross over a non-pedestrian zone (shortly).
It is pretty exposed to weather and cars don’t have an ideal place to pull over but I got lucky within 20 minutes.
I got a ride to the nearest northern toll station.

From Cap Rousillon, fairly easy to get to, just ignore google telling you to walk for over an hour and cut the field after passing D900. Tried to go for Lyon/Paris but noone picked us up for 1,5h. We got a ride 20mins after changing it to Montpellier. Tons of space to stop.

i was standing literally between two entrances of the toll, and with a sign to perpignan, in 5min, a car picked me up immediately
they were going to spain, so im sure you can aim further
a guy with hithhiking there just before me, he waited propably 10/15min, with out a sign, so i dunno where he was going
great spot
some cops pass by me and said nothing i was a bit paranoid

We first tried at the gas station, that was really bad, this spot is really good when there are no trucks parked there. The moment the trucks left we had a ride pretty quick

it serves both directions so it can be tricky, besides fuel is more expensive than in spain. and yet i was picked up by a german whose mother, in another car, needed fuel. there was a lot of people, the spanish were telling me they were unfortunately coming from spain but would take me

good spot. I waited shortly in front of the paying machines on the right side of the street. After about 50 minutes I got a ride to Montpellier. This spot is good to reach. No problem to walk there.

Long walk from Perpignan, but one of the nicest walks you'll ever have. Getting to this side of the Peage involves jumping a creek and climbing a fence!
