Baldaŭ alvenis du aliaj, patro kaj filo, la filo afabla, la patro malafabla al mia ĉeesto tie. Ili iafoje petis min provi ie aliloke, kaj mi decidis iom marŝi. Mi provis ĉe alia benzinstacio pli antaŭen, sur kurbo, sed same malfacila. Mi decidis malsupreniri la monton al la lasta forko en la vojo antaŭ la lasta benzinstacio, kaj tie alvenis alia petveturanto, poste alia maljunulo kiu postulis prioritaton. Haha, ruĝa kamioneto haltis kaj prenis la maljunulon. Feliĉe, aŭto baldaŭ haltis kaj prenis min kaj la alian viron, kaj ĉar ni veturis pli rapide kaj pli komforte, estis eĉ pli bone ke la ruĝa kamioneto prenis la postuleman maljunulon.

It makes sense to try hitchhiking right after a small petrol station, many locals from Vale come here to refuel. Traffic on this road is poor. I hitchhiked twice here and both times I walked almost to Naokhrebi to flag down a car.―Anonymous

guy who works at this station is incredibly drunk and a bit clingy, kept telling no one is going to stop and all that. he wanted to help though and spoke to some drivers. spot is good, but you may try lukoil gas station which is a bit before, if this aspect bothers you.still found a ride around 10 pm.

5 stars because turkish trucks here go a long distance.before you cross the border, there is a huge line of trucks. they won't speak english, so better smile and name bunch of cities, then mark their destinations down and after interviewing most of them, pick the best option for you.
i was solo, under heaviest rain in my life and got a 1500km lift across turkey. driver was super cool. border guards also helped me wait for the truck to cross and let me stay inside duty free area.
overall: good spot, but be ready to wait and probably come here in the morning, when all trucks from the rest area depart.

Only a 15min wait, then got taken all the way to the Georgian border by a trucker.He would normally take me even further (he was headed to Tbilisi), but I waited for him for 4 hours while he was in the border area, then I finally decided to take a taxi to Akhaltsikhe instead :') However, the border area should be good to hitchhike further if (unlike me) you do it immediately instead of waiting for one guy until it gets dark.
