If like me, you were condamned to walk in the tunnel to the border, just pass the first tunnel (easy) and will arrive here. Talk with the manager and explain the situation he might find someone for you. Or just talk to the people. It's gonna be too long and dangerous walking to the checkpoint.―cavalierrustique

Not good spot but best than the other one imo. Police passed by and said nothing, no one is in danger. People looked at me better than the previous one. At the end a truck stopped and I had to run : Deo Gratias ! He was going to Batoumi and saw my sign. Nobody stopped for Rize in two hours tho... Thanks Sulxan!―cavalierrustique

The place can be messy but it's the easiest reable on foot, just be patient and make clear you're hitch-hiking.Got a ride by an off-duty taxi going to Kutaisi airport for a pick-up, I got off at the exit of the highway and hitched directly there for the next ride to Tbilissi.

There are many taxis and many drivers that want money, but we got a lift by a bus for free to Batumi. There are also a lot of marshrutkas.―Prochy

Better to walk about 100m down the road from the mosque to the parking lot. Still plenty of space to stop and not so many people, buses, and taxis around. Hitching without a sign got me a ride to Trabzon (from a driver who later decided to go to Samsun) within 30 minutes at 6 in the morning.―HolyDrinker

I was going to Poti but the first driver took me only to Kobuleti. It was a real problem to get out of town so I catched a bus to the Poti turn.―363maks
