Good spot, there is a restaurant and some truck drivers. I asked around while drinking tea and one offered to take me right away―GermanyToIndia

There is the last shop before the boarder. So just ask the truck drivers or try it at the traffic light!―Anonymous

Better walk a few 100 m down the road, but still make the money issue clear. Otherwise good spot.―HolyDrinker

Easy pickings. Waited a few minutes max before a ride all the way to Batumi. Just find a space for them to pull in.―Looking for Stu

There are many taxis and many drivers that want money, but we got a lift by a bus for free to Batumi. There are also a lot of marshrutkas.―Prochy

Better to walk about 100m down the road from the mosque to the parking lot. Still plenty of space to stop and not so many people, buses, and taxis around. Hitching without a sign got me a ride to Trabzon (from a driver who later decided to go to Samsun) within 30 minutes at 6 in the morning.―HolyDrinker

Hitchhike around the mosque, road is wider and it's just after the border point. All kinds of vehicles commute here, and there are many trucks that go all the way to Europe even. Traffic is slow and frequent.―Anonymous

Direction to Artvin and further to Erzurum. I'm not sure if I placed marker rightly, as you should hitchhike after you pass bus station and before the road climbing into the hill. Good visibility in overall.―Anonymous

Just keep walking after rhe border and find a spot with good visibility. Not that much traffic on a weekday afternoon but eventually someone will pick you up. I got very lucky with a ride all the way to Samsun. Had a sign saying "Trabzon".―VeikkaK
