Easy spot to Tsalejikha and other towns direction Martvili, but you will get asked for money, even by cars who are not showing their taxi badge. There's a cheap blue city bus n.4 going 10km away, check schedule on Yandex Maps. So after 30 minutes i realized i was looking too elegant, started acting funny i got a ride in 5 minutes. Again i had to put boundaries when these 2 young guys invited me to stay for the night then tried to invite themselves to the restaurant where i was about to use the money that the previous 2 hitchdrivers gave me (10+10, what a coincidence). After them, 3 more people invited me home, ended up drinkin wine in Mikava and sleeping in Didi Tchkoni

I guess trespassing this particular border is prohibited due to military conflict involving Russia. I know that people travel Batumi to Sochi by ferry. How could you enter Abkhazia in this manner?

Agree. Indead quite doable to hitch to Mestia (first ride got me to Lia, second to Jvari and then on to Mestia all the way). Expect some waiting times.

Maybe not the best spot space-wise, but good enough for the cars to stop. Good point for going down to the coast (Poti - Kobuleti - Batumi). Waited 10 min.
