It seemed like a nice spot with everyone for sure going to lauenburg but noone picked us up for a long time. One car stopped was only going couple kilometers but then a really nice woman who with we vibed a lot and took us past her village to launerburg and even to the next edge of the town to take us to good spot to luneburg―kiausiniuvagis

Going north, this spot doesn't feel so great, but it worked for me. I was looking for a car, taking the ferry when two guys pulled in, looked at the ferry prices, and decided to take the bridge all the way to Copenhagen. If going to Denmark, I would advise taking the A7 rather than the A1.―martih

It was evening and suprisingly low traffic going to berlin. Liek eveyone were turning away on the next highway exit which is crazy. But eventually found a guy just sitting in a car and eating burger from mcdonalds and asked and he agreed because he was driving from ukraine border to denmark and would love company. Tried to get to Copenhagen and got a lift to A1 where we got a ride all the way. A lot of cars but mostly local traffic, however there were quite a few international traffic. There is a bus stop that the cars can pull over at.―Finn147

After 1,5h we got two ride-offers simultaneously! A German family offered to take us all the way to Hamburg with the ferry.Tip: have a walk around in the ferry and use that time to network and find your next ride if you hear the language of the next country you’re heading towards! We heard a few Dutch families (but their cars were full).

This spot gets a lot of traffic (all cars getting on the Autobahn to Hamburg). We were 2 people with a sign for Hamburg. Several reviews recommended the spot 500m south, at the traffic light, but it is before the intersection and in consequence got a third of the traffic. We we switched to the present spot, we had more people waiving to us and we eventually found a ride (after 30 min at this spot).―Blocktomo

Quiete a good spot towards Denmark and Sweden, unfortunately I arrived at 5 pm at Buddikate Ost and until I gave up at 8 pm I want able to get a lift towards the ferry in Puttgarden, quiet soon after arriving at the petrol station though I met multiple truck driver who would head towards Sweden the next morning (I thought that I would be able to catch a ride that evening so I didn't paided sufficient attention to this). After sleeping in my tent I got up the next morning and was able to catch a ride after waiting for two hours―Thaddel

I came from Berlin and wanted to go near Hamburg, but my lift was going to drive to Rostock, so i had to decide between this an the next rest stop before Wittstock. I went here, because this was a quite big one. I waited around 1h before a guy took me all the way to Hamburg. You may have to wait a bit even in easter holidays, but there are many cars getting fuel or people eating burgers.―rubntf97

We accepted a short ride to Stillhorn petrol station, just south of Hamburg centre. Seems better to stay at this one tough, more traffic. Needed to get to Hannover but we got offered a ride all the way to Belgium :)―Koendev

Agree with the above comment, made a mistake by standing with a sign saying "DK" and in the end accepted a ride to Lübeck. Got offer also for Rostock.―Koendev

A lot of cars that go to Lübeck or east towards Rostock.I tried to get to Fehmarn though and it took me a long time to find a car to bring me to the next gas station at least. If you try to get onto the ferry in Fehmarn, your best bet is to get to the gasstation "Neustädter Bucht" first.
