Waited for almost 3 hours, the traffic was heavy but no one stopped. It's a great place for the drivers to stop, but those are mostly Hungarians getting back home to nearby villages and it's very difficult to move somewhere further like Szeged. You may consider taking a bus to the next OMV station.―JuanPabloSegundo

Easy to access, safe place and lots of cars, which are going long distance. Take a train ticket from Nyugati to Vecses (15 min walk from tranin station) there is a bus stop and just a cardboard is enough with Szolnok on it. I was alone and two soldier picked me up.―Astala27

Quite a good place to stop, but not on the main road yet. After one and a half hour of waiting, which is a bit much even for two guys with big backpacks, a nice driver picked us up and brought us past Ullo, where the road 4 actually starts.―Tomasmarc

It's quite hard hitch-hike in here. There are lots of local car if you go there afternoon. Maybe you have luck if you go there morning. I don't know a better spot in order to leave Budapest towards south. There are trains for 15 Eur to Beograd. This could be a choise to leave Budapest. Otherwise, all about luck. Good luck!―Kralx15

An awesome spot to hitch a ride to Budapest. Stand at the very end of it, because from the back there is also a lane with traffic, which goes up to the motorway as well.―AdrianB
