Cars pass slowly and there is some grass to sit. No shade. After 30min I got picked up (after changing my sign to ‚25km M5‘ instead of Serbia). Still got 200km. I‘d recommend this spot over the one below.―GermanyToIndia

A German guy stopped and drove me all the way to the Serbian border. Probably better than anywhere inside Budapest proper―Arphile

Difficult to get a ride to Budapest. Probably best to look for Slovak plates and get a ride to “ASFINAG Raststation Göttlesbrunn”. There you’ll see more Hungarian plates.―spinach3

It isn't a great spot but doable apparently. Was yoused bzw. team roadkill gourmet in Tramprennen 2025. Lift straight to the finishline―waldlaeufer

Within 30 minutes we hitchhiked a man who drove us straight to Budapest. Many cars are heading this way towards Hungary. Heavy traffic.―Simi

Lot of traffic, cars going slow there. You can stand directly next to the toll booths and there is shade, which is a big plus in summer. We were 2 guys and used Hungary sign―simsvob

Very good spot !We was 2, with a big sign to give our destination. There is many cars passing and a good space for them to stop.
The only bad things is that there is a lot of pollution because of the highway. And the cars goes fast.

Huge traffic and lots of trucks, also nice facilities. If you're going south to Szeged, it's a great spot.―JuanPabloSegundo

Waited for almost 3 hours, the traffic was heavy but no one stopped. It's a great place for the drivers to stop, but those are mostly Hungarians getting back home to nearby villages and it's very difficult to move somewhere further like Szeged. You may consider taking a bus to the next OMV station.―JuanPabloSegundo

A local ex-hitchiker picked us up here, told us it's an awful place to catch anything and took us to M5 highway for a better place.―JuanPabloSegundo

Many cars and trucks stopping, took us a long while but that's because we had many other hikers trying to catch on this station at the moment. Should be fast for Budapest.―JuanPabloSegundo

A small petrol station on the road before the M5 starts. The M5 goes south towards Szeged and Serbia. Take Metro 3 to Ecseri út stop. Walk down Ecseri út street for about 800m until you see the busy road. On your right is the petrol station hidden behind a wall. You can reach it by crossing the road and walking behind the buildings on the other side untill theres a green area which can be crossed easily. Bus 281 will save you the 800m walk but is only once every hour from Nepliget stop on the metro (one stop before).―Anonymous
