I tried to hitchhike from petrol station to Aizkraukle, Jekabpils, but it was unsuccessful. I waited 2 hours, and then I go on the road. There is no place to stop a car, but in the middle of the road is a safety island before traffic lights. So, I stood in the middle of road and wait for red light on traffic lights. And then I knocking on car windows and after few minutes get a ride. This is not a good way to hitchhike. But if there is no other chances, you can try to. But you must be very fast, becouse when the green light will light up, then cars go further. If jou get a ride, you must take the car with all the bags very quickly, while the light is red light.―Anonymous
