I think it might be the best place of you want to skip Riga. Just ask drivers if they are going to Bauska or firther. As I am lithuanian I could just ask lithuanian drivers and I instantly got a ride to Panevezys.―kiausiniuvagis

For this spot didnt feel too good. Cars just go so fast here and they will not want to stop. Idk about other spots out of tallinn but maybe this is the best one. But if you get a ride most likely its a long one. Got one to almost Riga. But for driver stop he must be comitted to pick hitchhiker up. There place to stop and they see but the speed are the problem even for cars coming from the side.―kiausiniuvagis

Many cars but had a feeling that they weren’t comfortable stopping here as they would have needed to drive all the way to the gas station. Ended up moving to the gas station’s exit and got a ride from there immediately.―Nalle

Not the most ideal spot for cars to stop but good flow of cars and visibility.―Nalle

Got picked up by asking around the gas station for rides to Riga. Mostly commuters heading into the city so better to be there early. Otherwise not a lot of traffic.―BigOne

perfect spot in theory, but no one stopped. tried thumb, tried sign with Tallinn and sign with EST. ended up taking the bus closer to the border to filter out local traffic more, but if you wait longer you can definitely get a ride north.―marzipan

Got a ride to Ainazi within 40 minutes with Parnu sign.Altough I waited a bit more than I expected, I still consider it as a perfect spot - drivers can easily see you from decent distance, there is enough space for them to stop and there is even "official hitchhiking spot" sticker. Even if you have bad luck and cannot get any ride, you can wait for bus to Ainazi as a last resort.

Mostly locals stop here, after asking around for 60 minutes I still didn't get any ride. Moved to the bus stop nearby, which is much better spot―Argeros

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Now there is a normally functioning gas station, so cars no longer can stop at the exit ramp. You can still try your luck and ask around at the gas station but it seems like mostly locals use this one and traffic is a bit small. After asking around for 45 minutes got ride to gas station near Varzas.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny and warm day. Going to Tallinn.A lucky spot. A bus stop, good visibility.
I was dropped here by another driver and within 5 minutes a lorry stopped and took me all the way to Tallinn.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny day. Going to Tallinn. After waiting for over 1,5 hours at a different bus stop a few hundred metres down the road and not having luck. I moved to this bus stop. It had more space to stop than the previous one. A bit on a curve, but good visibility.
Within half and hour two women took me about 40 kms closer to Tallinn and left me on another bus stop where I got quickly got a ride directly to Tallinn.

Not a great spot at all, cars are going fast, but it is doable. A truck stopped and he was going all the way to Tallinn, for me it was enough to get to my grandma’s place near Häädemeeste!―anettlee17
