Very small traffic here, just trucks and few cars and people are not so friendly. We were waiting for the car for almost 2 hours and finally one older couple took us (2) to Trieste train station, where we took a public transport to the Barcola part of city, where was a good traffic.―TwoThumbsTravel

There is a safe place for hitchhiking just before the border crossing. Cars slow down up to 50 km/h and there is a place for save stop. However, almost everybody goes to the Triest city and it’s difficult to find sb going further. A little further, at border crossing, there were policemen but gentile and cheering up in my hitchhiking.―BDalas

I was stopping with sing Koper and aster a minute or two an o older guy pulled over at the gas station and took me to Izolo (city right next to Koper)Also during the time I standed there a guy on bike recommended to try the spot next to highway entry few km ahead that people usually hitchhike there.
