Almuñecar town with its roundabouts and numerous traffic lights seems like a perfect place for hitching, but it's still in Spain. Don't waste your time in the centre but instead walk a kilometer or so forward to the last traffic lights out of the city (towards Malaga).―Anonymous

a quite busy gas station but a bit tricky from here because people are going in different directions. we walked 20 mins to calahonda and from there we got a lift towards almeria quite easily standing at the side of the main road at the exit of the village.―Anonymous

Really not the best spot as it is an on-ramp...but cars will have time to see you and pull over...which for us around sunset was the miracle we needed to make it to Granada! Could be better, but could also be a lot worse/ Just don't stand too far up the ramp because the cars will be going to fast by that point!―RB
