A guy and a girl withiut a sign on a Friday evening. Very bad spot. There is clearly no place for cars to stop, maybe if you go hitchhike at the redlights nearby, but it's impossible to hitchhike on the ramp.
We were on the other side of the road wondering how to hitchhike here when two really nice girls stopped by to help us thinking we were lost. They ended up taking us to Uddevalla, so we were quite lucky !

Good spot to go to Götenborg, but not so good to go further. Not a lot of cars passing by, but several cars stopped until a guy eventually proposed to take us past Götenborg.

Sorry guys, but this might be my lucky spot! Within 10 minutes I got a short ride to the next gas station/rest area. The driver mentioned it’s not a safe spot since the ramp is already part of the motorway — but in my opinion, it’s still a usable place for hitchhiking north.

The waiting time ranged from 10 to 60 minutes. I was hitchhiking to Oslo and received two offers to Kungälv; the second time, I accepted the offer.

I remember my sister's bad experience at this parking area before—she and her husband had to wait for a ride for more than 24 hours. I was lucky that day and got a ride to Gothenburg in just 15 minutes. The car was originally going to Oslo, but they offered me a lift to Gothenburg. All the other cars were full.

We were about to give up and go to eat McDonalds 40 minutes away on foot, but a really nice girl saw us being in misery, approached us and asked if we need a ride. We wanted to reach Oslo, she drove us a little bit over Undelvalla :) (couple)

We were hyped about the spot because of many positive reviews, but the experience was tragic. We waited 3h 20min with Oslo sign. At 19:50 a guy gave us a 10 min ride to a small village.

3 cars stopped in a short time, maybe everybody was heading home after work, a nice swedish man picked me up because he tried to hitchhike when he was young( though failed)..

Me and a friend (guy and girl) took the bus from the STIGS center here trying to hitch north. Waited for about 30 minutes without a ride. Eventually got on another city bus and rode north (without paying).

I hitchhiked north from here ... though there are probably mainly locals, they can take you at least to one gas station and rest place (also for trucks) near Stenungsund - that was my case :-)

Direction: almost everywhere

There are several bus stops just behind the roundabout so the cars are slow and have a lot of space to stop ...

A little rest area with toilets and picnic tables. Quiet but relaxed where you can approach people. Cars and trucks also.

Shopping center right on the highway.. many locals from Kungalv. But you can stand on the roundabout near the exit to Trollhattan with a sign, so all the cars will see you. Also the possibilty to ask people at the shopping centers or petrol stations.
