Great spot, there's plenty of space for cars to stop and fairly enough cars coming from the nearby big gas station.―lelian

The spot is nice, everyone is going to the highway, but not so many cars here (but I've been there Sunday afternoon) and most of them seemed to go only short distances. Finally, I got a ride nearly to Hamar, but waited hour and a half.―lelian

We wanted to reach Lillehammer, 2 cars stopped each 30 minutes, and offered a ride to Hamar, but we wanted to go a bit further, so after 1,5h a woman offered a lift close to Lillehammer :) (couple)―violonsky

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny and warm day. Going to Otta.Spots looks great. A bus stop with loads of place for cars. Cars going slowly. But there isn't much traffic. I waited 30 minutes. I got superb lucky. One driver stopped and asked me where I was going. But he wasn't going to Otta, so he left. But after a few minutes he came back and he said that he'd take half an hour longer route which goes through Otta.
There is a petrol station and some McDonald's nearby with free toilets.

One male 40+, no sign, one big and one small backpacks, sunny and warm day. Going to Otta.A very good spot. I wasn't standing at the exit of petro station, but by the road joining the highway (close to the bridge). There was enough shoulder for cars to stop. If you moved passed the bridge, maybe the cars from the main highway could stop for you. I didn't do it, coz were I was standing it was illegal enough.
Cars go slowly and you'd be visible nicely.
In 15 minutes 3 cars stopped for me. The first two were going very short distances without good spots, so I thanked them. And I jumped into the 3rd one which was going far enough.

Good spot to go to Elverum.Might be a good idea to take a ride from here to Myklagard, then go south.
OR try out the onramp to E6 heading south - although I have never tried that one.

Myklegard is a petrol station and hotel. Try to avoid it if possible bed ppl drive very fast there (70 or 90) and don't easily stop―Anonymous

Difficult to find the exact spot but it was by a rest area on the E6 heading south. Seriously sound guy picked us up. Another fellow hitchhiker, took us to his home in Oslo for a great evening with conversation oozing with awesomeness. Thanks mate!―Anonymous

A good spot if heading to Trondheim, BUT do not go closer than Elverum roundabout because there are not convenient spots before Elverum except Ånestadkrysset which is 8km before Elverum roundabout (turn to Trondheim road)―denwer

Afternoon, waiting time 80 mins, a 109km ride to Hamar, but I jumped off at a gaz station 20 km before Hamar, which is the best decision when you head up to Trondheim. As I always say about this Shell Gaz station - be patient and friendly filter out short local rides if you go far north.

My last ride let me out here and I just couldn't get any further from here.. I waited for over two hours while there was lots of traffic, but there really is no place for a car to stop at all. Also they are kinda distracted going through the roundabout so they don't really notice you. Not a good spot in my opinion. I would rather go a little further away from the highway and try hitchhiking on the nearest bus stop even though there is a little less traffic.―Anonymous

I followed denwers enthusistic advice and took the bus all the way here which was quite convenient and not that expensive. id you are late theres also lots of space to sleep in the area. anyways, no proplem of getting a ride far south from here, easy and comfortable―Leomagdich

A great spot to get south from Hamar. Just stand in the roundabout before the onramp, there are just a little space for a car to stop, so get ready to get in quickly.―Aakerkrysset
