got a ride directly to tiranë. there is a shuttle going from dresden to tiranë twice a week. they stop here by chance :) maybe you can hop on for free. look for albanian number plate and ask (drive through kosovo so at least 1700km :p

Quite a bad spot, though there is space for stopping, but in Chinese standards maybe a narrow space and lots of traffic headed for the highway. One lady called me a Didi to take me to the next service station north, so that I could hitch further north from there.

A nice service station not too far from Jinan, lots of traffic heading north. I was treated to a Didi to get here. Found two young guys heading from climbing one of the tallest mountains in Shandong back home to Inner Mongolia. What a lucky day! We spent together more than 900km and more than half a day, as they made also two sleeping stops, as both of them were very tired.

That starting spot is fine. Just a service station, not too much traffic, but that's fine. A family took me a bit further to a service station where I eventually got stuck for 3 hours, as everyone were driving to nearby and not more towards the Mongolian border. Though the place I ended up was a new service station, it didn't get lots of traffic pulling in. So I ended up going to Ulanhot, because the security guard insisted I take this ride with a these people that were going to Arxan 阿尔山, but they seemed a bit off, and my gut feeling in the end was right and they just didn't want to lose their face to that guard, but eventually only took me to the police station in Ulanhot and left me there. The police then took me to THE fanciest hotel in town, and when the lady pulled up the room prices I was like do you really think I, with my five times ripped and sewed back together pants hitchhiking around here prepared to sleep in the service station floor has a budget for that, jeezzz, then I explained to them my budget, as sadly it wasn't an option they'd just leave me out there, and they took me to the worst cheapest place possible (mind that for the same price I've stayed in way nicer places), it was just a room with a bed, where all the linens and a pillow smelled like cigarette smoke and there was no shower included in the price. Don't get stuck in Ulanhot is my suggestion, and TRUST your GUT FEELING, as I had to eventually take a train to Arxan the next morning, which was not in my plans, but I was starting to run out of time, so there's that.

With a LYON sign a bus that is mwnt to be driving around Barcelona picked me up and drove up straight to Lyon. ( Could have asked him to drive me all the way there )

Your best bet for getting far into germany. Got a ride past Nurnberg from a lovely polish family

Great spot to hitchhike towards Samara. A lot of traffic and a good spot to pull over, a guy picked me up closer to volgograd and dropped me off here.

Ad a sign for Utah maybe too long of a shot , took the sign down then got picked up ten min after by trucker

Not the best spot , try to get drop off on truck stop lined up with the highway always more simple

Found out reservations is not a good spot to hitch, as apparently police are more strict there , got kick off the highway ramp ten kick off the gaz station, had to go across the street in the grass, and was kinda Waiting for the cop to show up again as they said It was illegal to hitch on public road in Oregon which I really doubt the reality of those info , knowing the law section on hitchwiki Oregon, anyway did not argue and did not get fined, truck saved out of there

Started at 06:45 for no reason, was hardly any traffic that early. After around 08:00 it started to pick up and there was a lot of foreign number plates also, can probably find a ride far.

Lots of traffic here especially heading towards Poland. There was a lot of cars which were very full but found a ride eventually. Depending on what final destination is, maybe worth writing 'Polska' and then taking polish trains to Krakow/Katowice/Częstochowa.

The spot itself is good. This ride was a bit of a mistake I since this spot has lots of traffic. We were aiming for Warsaw so probably should have waited for a ride to go further, but didn't ask. It is also slightly awkward to find a place where the cars can pull over.

This felt like it was a miracle, it was late and hardly any traffic but this was maybe the 3/4th car that drove past. Don't think I would recommend this spot, but maybe you get lucky.

I got a car in relative less attempts. Not so much traffic as in a gas station, but enough, at least in summer.

We came here from Berlin and got picked up within minutes. Got really lucky (two guys)

Many cars were here, but we had to ask around for a bit (two guys). We were trying to go to Freiburg and got lucky with an old couple that took us to baden Baden. Its best to ask around

There were many cars here but we had to get to Freiburg. I think it can be a bit tricky to get into Freiburg as its not far away and people probably dont take a break so close to their destination. But we got lucky and a guy picked us (2 guys) up with his pick up truck

Lots of Polish trucks resting. Passenger cars mostly local traffic. But some Polish drivers returning back home. I got lucky and made it all the way to other side of Poland.
